“This photo was pure luck. I
was shooting the 2002 Quik Pro contest in Hossegor and saw
a set looming on a bank down the beach.
As I swung the camera around for a lineup shot, the surfer
paddled right into the perfect position to show the scale
of the wave. Ironically, amidst the chaos of a WCT contest
watched by thousands of spectators this guy found himself
in an oasis of purity.”
