”Just as the sun was setting,
my friend Ricca and I hitched and walked our way up the hills
behind Waimea Bay to the heiu over looking Waimea Bay. We
split up and walked alone around this sacred site. The energy
here was reminisciemnt of Native sacred sites I had visited
in the U.S, we felt overwhelmed with the nature and spirit
in this place. We stayed silent and repectful. As delicate
bird song hung on the soft wind I bent down to watch the birds,
as they sang and clung to the tall grass I took this picture
as the sun sank into the hillside. Looking at it, takes me
right back to the feelings I expericened there.”
