”It was my last evening
on the North Shore after a month on O’ahu watching the
Triple Crown contests. A friend and I decided to take a last
stroll along the beach between Sunset and Pipeline. The light
was amazing, golden light softened by sea spray. Looking down
the beach I spotted a lone surfer surveying Pipeline and shot
the picture looking into the hazy sunset. This is a kind of
classic surf image but I love it as it evokes all the elements
I love about surfing, being in nature, the warmth of the sun,
feeling of space and an individuals relationship with the
ocean. Just a beautiful moment in nature.”
