”Over a series of days
and evenings I sat on the grass over looking the beach at
Byron, surfing, writing my diary, watching the world go by.
The camper was parked in the carpark there and I used to sit
and watch the guy who owned it. A loner, he kinda looked like
Kris Kristofferson and to me, his life way of living from
this van, over looking the ocean represented another time,
a symbol of freedom and self determination. The poingnant
messages in the rear window of the van struck a cord.”
